Stanley, at 20 months is 27", 130 lbs. (AKC Standard 24-27", 95-130 lbs. Males finish developing at 3) Stanley's Championship-, Service-Rich Pedigree Says Everything About Him
Stanley's pedigree says plenty, but I must say that I know Stanley best as an enthusiastic companion who leaves the house with me early in the morning and works hard everyday. He stays right beside me as I do chores on our 53-acre cattle farm. He goes everywhere I go. He loves everybody he meets. Stanley also is now a qualified service dog. He assists me in subtle, impressionable ways to help train other dogs. My last companion dog, a retired service dog, lived to be 16-years old. I expect no less of Stanley.
But Why A Rottweiler? And Why Stanley?
Rottweilers are among the top-ten most intelligent breed of dogs in the world. There is practically no end of services that the breed cannot perform. Sadly, but true, Rottweilers were the first dogs on the scene at the Trade Center tragedy. They were cadaver dogs. I hand-picked Stanley from among other one-year old Rottweilers that I personally traveled to various parts across the country to meet. To the amazement of one breeder, whose dog I turned down, it seemed unimaginable that somebody would drive more than two-thousand miles and in just two minutes say, "This is not my dog."
When I met Stanley, I also met his mother and father. Great parents. I knew at once that Stanley was my dog. As well, I felt won-over with his well-regarded kennel and levelheaded breeder.
